TC Bros. Featured Customer Ride - Rick Ferguson

TC Bros. Customer Rides – a series dedicated to the fabrication ingenuity and creativity of our customers and featuring their rides they've shared with us.

Sent to us from Rick Ferguson of Indianapolis, IN

In his own words:

"My name is Rick Ferguson and I am a welding instructor at Walker Career Center in Indianapolis, IN.

A couple of years ago I decided the class needed something cool to build that would also give them real world experience.

I have a good friend by the name of Brian Towse that introduced me to the world of XS650 bobbers.  I started searching Craig's List to see what I  could find.  I actually found an Yamaha XS650 that my buddy had sold a couple of years ago. The bike was not running so I got a real good deal on it. The bike had been changed into a cafe racer style bike.  To some the look is cool but I wanted more of a bobber look to it.  Before taking the bike apart we had to get it running.  New spark plugs and starter fluid did the trick.  I think the bike ran for about 15 minutes before we shut it off and started taking apart.  My students enjoyed cutting the old frame off so we could weld on the TC BROS weld on hardtail.  Some of the other items we used from TC BROS is the round 4" headlight and the '33 Ford replica side mount tail light/license plate.  Since I teach welding and fabrication we fabricated our own chopper battery and electronic box kit.

I am well pleased on how the bike turned out and have been riding it for a couple of years now.  I'm also pleased with all of the parts and how quickly I received them from TC BROS.

I am currently in the process of selling the bike to see what other kind of adventure I can have.

Thanks for everything.

Sincerely,

Rick Ferguson"
