TC Bros. Featured Customer Ride - Richard Ruck

TC Bros. Customer Rides – a series dedicated to the fabrication ingenuity and creativity of our customers and featuring their rides they've shared with us.

Sent to us from Richard Ruck of Riverview, Florida.

In his own words:

"Here is my ‘77 Shovelhead, it started out as a stock Superglide rat. I rode it home, stripped it to the frame, hardtailed it and started there.  The motor is the stock cases and heads with S&S 84” internals, spinning the original 4 speed with a jockey shift.

Aside from some bungs, tabs and mounts, I used the TC Bros. Dual Bag Air Ride Solo Seat Bracket Kit.  I mounted the bottom bracket upside down so when the seat is aired down, the kit almost disappears.

I’ve been riding motorcycles since I got my first YZ50 in 1982, I’ve been building this bike in my head for about 6 years and finally got to do it.  What I would say about the experience is that it’s addictive because I’m ready to take what I leaned and do it again!  Also, through this process, being a decent mechanic and a decent welder that never built a bike, I sought out a lot of advice from a lot of vendors that I purchased parts from.  I found that if you reach out to companies like TC Bros, and other vendors you can find in rags like Cycle Source Magazine, making quality stuff with the garage builder in mind… guys with 100 times the experience you have will go out of their way to answer your dumb questions.  There is something pretty awesome when a guy you’ve read about or admired the work of for years replies to you personally in an email to help you out."
